There were some installation problems when it was first released that some people resolved by re-installing. One other off-chance thing to try is to re-install PS CC 2014. Maybe that has something to do with it? Are you sure that is completely cleaned up? Looking back at your original post you did mention you had a malware attack. I did get a chance to try out the technique shown in the video, and Remask 4 worked as expected for me. I will go out to my shop and carry on with my woodwork and when its dark will sneak back in and have a go using the old method of producing layer masks so at least I can give the 2nd part of the tutorial a go.

I'll have to give it a shot when I get time. I haven't tried the technique mentioned in the video. Make sure you are using this filter (under the filter menu) and not camera raw itself. It is quite handy to have, and only available in Photoshop CC (or CC 2014). The camera raw filter that he talks about in the video doesn't actually work on the raw file, but is a filter that works on the pixel image, but mimics the camera raw controls.
